The site of the ring of stones at Rollright, near Long Compton, and not far from Chipping Norton in Oxfordshire, is well known as a mystical megalithic site.
There are three separate sites, these photographs cover the King and his men on two of them.
Although there is evidence of the site having been used as early as 3,000 bc, it well recorded from the 14th century onwards. The legend is that the king and his men were turned to stone by a witch as they passed through her land.
